Finally have discovered purpose to conversations at the Irani and other hang outs. Make lists. Any sort of list. Yesterday Rikhav and I made a list of 25 Albums to take to a Desert Island. Rikhav's list is here Here's my list in no particular order

1. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
2. Pink Floyd - Wish you were here
3. Rush - Exit Stage Left
4. Supertramp - Paris/ Breakfast in America - Need to make my mind up :D
5. Traveling Wilburys - Vol 1
6. Traveling Wilburys - Vol 3
7. Beatles - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
8. Beatles - The White Album
9. Weather Report - 8:30
10. Vangelis - Chariots of Fire (This is a completely original soundtrack so should count)
11. Peter Gabriel - Peter Gabriel (Melted Face)
12. Peter Gabriel - Us
13. Albert Collins/Robert Cray/ Johnny Copeland - Showdown
14. Shakti - A Handful Of Beauty
15. Santana - Havana Moon
16. The Who - Who's Next

22. Umrao Jaan
23. Cream - Disraeli Gears
24. Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Loving (Yeah Yeah this is a compilation)
25. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Rikhav dropped Kinks and Heavy Weather - Guess am not such a fan after all. And on other issues - Arsenal drew yesterday - Bummer. A Second double looks unlikely.

I cycled 10 kilometers yesterday. YAY. I feel like a old man today. My legs feel slightly jellified and painful. And in a quick change of topic - All records against Bangladesh in cricket should probably be discounted by 50% discount when comparing with other nations. I sometimes also wonder why do we be indecisive with friends. I'm off for a nap now. It's been a late night yesterday. Look at me napping when I should have been lunching.....

Yay ManUre have been defeated in the Champions League. Good on them. With any luck they will lose this weekend against Spurs and that will be the second consecutive season without any silverware. Now who is the idiot who decided you can play cricket in April in the Indian subcontinent ? Probably the same idiot that gave Bangladesh test status. I think Bangladesh need to play India in a 5 test series so that they can record their first win. My cycle is now fixed. Went for a ride yesterday and ended up at the Coffee Day. Was enjoying being by myself and reading when a large group entered and proceeded to spread themselves over the room. I fail to understand in a room where there are precisely 12 people what is the need to shout. Normal decibel levels are good enough. Another thought would be to have meters penalizing people when there is no need to shout. Oh God - I am turning into the crusty old man who fulminates about the state of the nation.

Today's rant is on commitments. I don't know why people get bugged if you don't do stuff by the committed time. If u get that which you requested before you had use for it should be good enough. If you got delayed because of a delayed delivery I agree you have reason to be bugged. Typically if you say u will fetch stuff in the morning and u (heaven forbid) actually do it in the afternoon the skies aren't going to fall down. Seriously though I think the world is anal enough without people nitpicking on such issues. On a more serious not my cycle is busted since yesterday. HILFE!

Another late night. That's what I like about Mumbai. You can go anyplace anytime and not feel hassled about being able to get back. There's always a cab or a rick. This is where Mumbai scores over anyplace else in India. I'm happy to be a Bombayite!

Yay the archives seem to be working. Turns out I just had to go and say republish. Coooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

Thanks to Jaga I've tried to incorporate email. So come on down and talk to me. If you want to send me money definitely talk to me

Keeping track of who's talking to who and what's the issue is a full time job nowadays. With men it's so simple either u are great friends or u loathe the sight of that worm. Wimmen of course can never keep it that simple. (Is this making me look like a MCP ? Does that dress make me look fat ?) I suppose there is no right answer to either of these questions.Effing Barcelona lost in the Champion's League. Now no silverware this season. Louis Van Gaal - May u rot in hell. Anyway having successfully changed the topic my bike has broken down. It sort of came apart in my hand - the pedal I mean. Dunno why I feel that it's destiny. Perhaps I'm not meant to be slim and devastatingly handsome. Fat and handsome will have to do. And to all my anal friends who keep correcting the topic of this blog - Understand a in joke when there is a in joke. Idle thoughts of an Idle Fellow indeed.

I hereby declare Monty Python to be the best TV Show ever. Incredible!!! Astute and perceptive observers might note that my Blog posts are down to one per day but then u take what u can get. Been a bit busy with work. I have a long 2 weeks of dealing with Banks, Post Offices, the Telephone company and various registrars. I fear I shall soon be insane. I don't know but when I was a kid you used to have a tonne of these thelawalas who used to circulate around in the day offering various stuff. I haven't really noticed them since I began work but now that I've been at home I really miss them. Their number seems to have reduced dramatically. I still have fond memories of eating Sukha Bhel. Sigh- Another part of me that's grown older. I do behave like a really old man nowadays.....

And on a Monday morning my thoughts turn towards my ex fellow workers. Nothing gives you pleasure so much as knowing that there are others working when you are lazing. This pleasure out of other people's discomfort while not a laudable feeling is nice. I think I am missing work. The last sentence would have almost been perfect in one of my reports. One pertinent observation that I have been making to all my friends and see no reason why they shouldn't be reading it here again (Assuming of course that they do read this blog) is that every Sunday almost every restaurant is crowded. The language spoken in the restaurant is the same but the religions differ depending on the type. We have Gujjus in almost every restaurant in Mumbai. In a vegetarian restaurant it's the Hindu and Jain Gujjus but in a non veg restaurant it's the Bohri/Bawa/Khojas et al.(Yes Yes I know all my Bawa friends insist they are not Gujrati but a zillion years of living in Gujrat makes u a Gujrati). Makes me think that Gujjus like to eat out regardless of the religion.

Hmm I seem to have misplaced a blog post somewhere. Posted today noon and now nowhere to be seen. Quick update- Barcelona drew with Real (Yeah!). Things are never as good as they used to be. This Blog is definitely not as funny as it used to be. The reason why people never listen to advice is that "Second Hand Experience is like second hand smoke - Deadly". Actually the last bit was not in the earlier blog but then gives you all (Note the plural - Optimistic old me assuming that there are people out there reading this blog) a thing to hang about. Sorta like the legendary 22 minute "Anyone For tennis" that Cream is supposed to have recorded but never been release since it would put everything else they did to shame. Have they never heard of one hit wonders ?
